about

This song was written in 1987. It was on my first released tape from 1991, called The Other Side. I re-recorded it especially for Kay in 2014. The original recording had a cello part, created and recorded by Tyrrell Sweetman. As soon as we can schedule it at the Waterwitch Cathedral, she will come and re-record her part.

lyrics

It’s raining in the forest
And the leaves are cold and gray
Did the birds forget the chorus?
I’m missing you today

Because I’ll never now embrace you
You’re a line upon my face
And I never can replace you
I’m missing you today

Chorus: Did you know you’d go away
So soon after we’d met
Do you think it was meant to be?
I know it’s alright
In the greater scheme of things
But in the smaller place of my heart
There’s still the rain

So very glad I’ve known you
And we shared a time and space
And though you left so much behind you
I’m missing you today

Chorus

It’s raining in the forest
And the leaves are cold and gray
Did the birds forget the chorus?
I’m missing you today
