It’s About Time was many years in the making. The songs span most of my songwriting career, from Aphrodite (1986) to Time and Experience (2014). There is a lot of love in this album! The songs cover a lot of ground, but carry a common theme of living life fully, engaging to the max in the blink of time we are here. I am grateful to my friends and fellow musicians who put their heart and brilliance into this recording with me. Here’s hoping this music will help you heal, grow, love, and experience your own life more fully.

I am trying to keep some awesome old words around with this song! So much of the time we are stuck in the prison of “I-me-mine” as George Harrison put it. It’s wonderful to wake up from that illusion of separateness and be completely in the now, rubydazzled by the beauty of life.

What does it mean to be me
Am I just everything inside my skin
Am I the thoughts that I’m thinking
Does water turn into me
When I am drinking it

What does it mean to be you
Sometimes, we seem so different
Balderdash or tickety-boo
It truly is an experiment

Will I turn into a spectre
When I am dead or return to stardust
Does every good deed really matter
Can love heal the hurt when my heart is in tatters, yeah

How can you really know me
Sometimes we don’t seem so separate
Fal de ra-la-la Fiddle-de-dee
We’re free to be infinite

Collywobbles inside
Of my tummy
I’m so scared
And so excited
Here right now
